Exchanging cultures, sharing lives
This is an extraordinary opportunity for students, business leaders, and citizens of Brea to experience a Korean city's culture first-hand.
Whether you choose to travel to Korea yourself and live with a host family, or host an exchange program participant in your home, this is a rare chance to immerse yourself in the values, traditions, and perspectives of a community on the other side of the world.

In summer of 2014, 17 Brea Olinda High School students visited Anseong, Korea. This is what they had to say about their trip:
Going on this trip has given me the opportunity to not only see the culture but experience it firsthand. Not many have the chance to say they've been to Korea but I can be one of the few to say I've gone & actually loved it, it was better than anything I expected. --Myra
I had so much fun touring both historical and modern places, and the best part was that I got to experience everything with my friends. I am so thankful for this amazing adventure and I will never forget it. --Alicia
Korea was an amazing experience for me and I learned so much about the country and its
culture. The country is beautiful, the people there are very nice and they helped me feel the
comfort of being at home. --Earllyn
We were just thrown into the everyday culture and I truly loved it. ... but the host families made the trip the best for me. Korea is a really amazing place and I'm glad we can exchange our different cultures which actually aren't all that different. --Ashley
My trip to Korea was an amazing, life changing, and wonderful experience. One of my personal favorite experiences in Korea was when we visited the Samsung Enterprise and saw a TV that was dedicated to soccer by having a soccer mode, and seeing the biggest flat screen TV they had. --Steven
Korea was a once in a lifetime experience and an unforgettable adventure in my life. There were many interesting things to see all from the old villages to the Samsung innovation museum. I remember visiting places like the DMZ and Seoul and thinking to myself how awesome Korea is! --Lorenzo
The most incredible part of this trip to me was the bonding I got to experience with the host families that graciously accepted me despite the cultural ignorance I possessed. Overall, the trip was a once in a lifetime opportunity in which I learned a large amount of Korean culture, bonded with friends, and even created new lifelong friends. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and would definitely look to going back again! -- Ryan
I was scared because of the language barrier. However, the host families were incredibly kind and understanding. I only wish we had spent more time with the families. Overall I learned so much about Korean culture and I fell in love with South Korea and its people. --Laura
